Youngsters enjoyed learning vital cycling skills at school.

The pupils at Stalham Infant and Junior School, part of Broad Horizons Education Trust, were put through their paces in Bikeability training.

Year 4 pupils, aged 8 and 9, were invited to bring in their bikes to learn about maintenance, balance, cycling skills, and pedalling with one hand.

The training was delivered by Outspoken Training and was aimed at those who could ride a bike without stabilisers.

It was designed to build confidence and encourage more cycling.

One youngster who took part in the training said: "I really enjoyed weaving through the cones and learning which brake controls the front brake and which brake controls the back brake.

Another said: "I loved the games that we played during Bikeability and also when we all had to stop really quickly.

"I was so happy the sun was shining."

Glenn Russell, executive principal for Stalham Infant and Junior School, said: "These are invaluable skills for our children to learn and I am really pleased to see so many of our pupils with their bikes in the playground."
