A giant octopus called Armstrong has joined a school.

Sheringham Woodfields School, a special needs school in Sheringham, is welcoming the new addition to its library to offer pupils and staff “well-being cuddles”.

The octopus was won in a raffle by ambulance dispatcher Tracy Dennes, who decided to donate the toy to the school where her son Joey is a pupil.

She said: “I decided to donate Armstrong to Joey’s amazing school where I know his eight strong arms will come in handy to give lots of well-being cuddles to the children and the staff.”

Matthew Smith, business manager at the school, said: “We are very grateful for this lovely donation.

“Armstrong will live in the library from where I am sure he will soon be delivering lots of cuddles and hugs.”

Sheringham Woodfields School is a purpose-built school for pupils with complex learning and health needs situated on the outskirts of Sheringham.
