A youth theatre production has been given a helping hand.
Sheringham Little Theatre’s staging of Alice in Wonderland, performed by young actors aged 12 to 18, was supported by a £700 donation from Sheringham Masonic Lodge 6021.
The gift was one of three donations selected by this year’s Worshipful Master, Jim Ramshaw, who also contributed £1,000 to a Cambodian orphanage he supports through regular visits, and £700 to research into amyloidosis, a rare disease involving protein build-up in organs.
Mr Ramshaw said the theatre was suggested to him by town councillor and theatre trustee Madeleine Ashcroft.
Debbie Thompson, theatre director, said: "We are very grateful for this generous donation.
"We rely on funding to be able to provide drama activities and opportunities for young people.
"This donation will allow us to provide proper costumes, sets and props for our showcase productions."
The cast for Alice in Wonderland was drawn from the theatre’s Act One youth drama groups.
These groups will resume on September 8 and run every Monday during term time.
