A final appeal has been made for young people to step forward and become founder members of Norfolk's newest Countrysiders club.

The Countrysiders are the junior branch of Norfolk's Young Farmers' Clubs (YFC), aimed at children aged 10–16.

The group was hit hard during the pandemic, with 15 clubs closing.

But its post-Covid revival continues with the launch of Holt Countrysiders on Wednesday, May 1, at Gresham’s school.

It will join the three other Norfolk Countrysiders clubs which have re-opened since the lockdowns - Harleston, North Elmham and Wymondham.

County YFC organiser Alison Andrews said: "We are very excited for next week's launch of Holt Countrysiders.

"This is our final call for 10–16-year-olds to be part of the founding membership of this club.

"Come and join us for fun competitions, learning about agriculture and rural life, conservation and getting the opportunity to develop new skills you can carry forward to adult life, with lots of fun along the way making new friends and memories to cherish.

"YFC has so much to offer young people of the countryside, so come and join us."
