A 72-foot boat and 85-tonne cable drums are among five abnormal loads that are being transported across Norfolk this week.

Police will be escorting the loads on some of the county's busiest roads and drivers have been warned to expect delays.

The first convoy, set to hit the A11 at 9am today, is an 85-tonne cable drum being transported from Boston in Lincolnshire to Oulton in north Norfolk.

Police will escort it on the A11, A134, A1122, A10, Queen Elizabeth Way and the A148 before taking local roads to the site in Oulton Street.

On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday similar loads will be transported along the same route as they are delivered to the Orsted Site.

A 72-foot boat will be transported from Haven Marina in Lowestoft via Norfolk to Conwy in Wales.

Police will begin the escort at 11am on Wednesday where it will take local roads before joining the A47 to Cambridgeshire.
