Anyone who has made a “significant contribution” and helped an individual or the wider community in Cromer can now be nominated for a town honour.

The Cromer Town Council Award Scheme has been launched for its 26th year, with the honours to be presented by the mayor at an annual town meeting on March 27.

A town council spokesman said: “Every year one hears of work or a deed being done within our community which enhances the quality of life in our town or of its inhabitants.

“Much of this work by its very nature goes largely unrecognized and may not be fully appreciated by the community at large.

“Any person, young or old, and group or organisation, is eligible to be considered.

“The council is looking towards anyone who has made a significant contribution to the quality of an individual, or wider community life in Cromer, during the last year.”

More than 100 people and groups have been given awards over the years.

Nomination forms are available from the council office in North Lodge Park, and will be online at www.cromer-tc.gov.uk. Forms must be returned by January 20.
