The Environment Agency has warned people in Norfolk to "take care" as rivers and waterways remain flooded following a weekend of strong winds and heavy rain.

It comes after Storms Elin and Storm Fergus brought gale-force conditions to much of the county, uprooting trees and damaging infrastructure.

The rivers Waveney, Bure, Ant, Thurne and Dove, as well as the Hundred Foot Washes in southwest Norfolk, remain at "dangerous" levels, covering roads and low-lying paths.

Walkers are urged to not put themselves in any unnecessary danger as high tides have cut off several areas.

Spixworth Beck and its surrounding becks are also affected by flooding and the washes around Welney have seen water levels rise to up to 25 inches.

Winds of up to 55mph were recorded in Weybourne last night following a weekend of chaos that saw trees felled across roads and a wind turbine in East Somerton severely damaged.
