A man who was arrested on suspicion of causing the death of a 13-year-old cyclist in a hit-and-run could be charged when his bail comes to an ends tomorrow.

Alfie Brown, 13, from North Walsham, died when he was knocked off his bike by a white Ford Ranger truck on Knapton Road, near the village of Swafield, on the evening of August 10 this year.

Alfie, who was due to start Year 9 at North Walsham High School, was cycling home at the time, and an inquest into his death is ongoing

The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 50s, was arrested later that night on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop.

He was released on bail, which expires on Thursday, November 30. 

Tomorrow, he will either be charged with a crime, released if the investigation is dropped, or released on bail again.
