A Norfolk MP has slammed Suella Braverman for writing a scathing letter to Rishi Sunak after she was sacked from position of home secretary.
Mrs Braverman accused the prime minister of “betrayal” over a promise to do “whatever it takes” stop small boat crossings – saying he had “manifestly and repeatedly failed to deliver” on key policies.
She said Mr Sunak’s “plan is not working” and that the government is “running out of time” – stating “you need to change course urgently”.
North Norfolk MP Duncan Baker - a fellow Conservative - said Mrs Braverman showed no “dignity” or “decorum” in the letter.
Mr Baker said: “It didn’t have an awful lot of dignity really.
“We serve as MPs and it’s a role where we look to serve our constituents. It is not a right to be a government minister - it’s an honour and a privilege and I don’t believe in those sort of letters when you resign from government.
“I think there’s an element of dignity and decorum and I don’t think that letter was warranted.”
