People of all ages came together in towns and villages across north Norfolk to pay their respects on Remembrance Sunday.
Services and parades took place in dozens of locations, as prayers were read out, Royal British Legion flags were lowered and the Last Post was played.
Thousands of people bowed their heads and turned their thoughts to the sacrifice of war and the price of the freedoms we enjoy today in a national two-minutes' silence, which took place at 11am.
Holt Town Council said “large numbers” joined in the town’s parade, which included RBL members, civic leaders, cadets, scouts, guides and representatives of the emergency services.
An Act of Remembrance, led by rector, Howard Stoker, was held at the war memorial.
The Northrepps service was led by lay preacher Janet Payne, and there was a flypast from the nearby Northrepps Airfield.
Lorna Fish, Northrepps RBL branch chairman, said: “We had several enquiries about the muffled peel of bells not being rung this year, but this was due to building works which are being carried out in the church.
“Hopefully you will hear them next year.”
