Trend Marine in Catfield featured in James Bond films

Trend Marine, based in Catfield, near Great Yarmouth, has been producing parts for motor yachts since 1973.

The company, a division of Lippert Marine Group Europe, manufactures product for luxury yacht companies like Sunseeker and Princess Yachts, and over the years its work has appeared in several Bond films, including The World is Not Enough, Die Another Day, and Casino Royale.

Its parts have also been part of Richard Branson's Virgin Atlantic Challenger boats and the boats of F1s Eddie Jordan and Nigel Mansell.

“It’s an achievement for any company to be in business for 50 years these days, and especially so in the marine industry,” said Steve Fiske, sales account manager at Trend Marine, from North Walsham, who has worked for the company for 38 years.

“Despite several ownership changes over the years and now being owned by a multi-billion NY stock exchange listed corporation, the company has maintained its small business friendly feel and outlook."

Mr Fiske added: “Even after 50 years the company stills hold the same values and pride in its work as we did back when we started.

“A lot of people have left the business over the years, and it’s a credit to Trend Marine that a lot want to come back soon after.

“It’s a proud feeling to think that for 50 years we have been an integral part of the British boat building industry and worldwide, with innovative products and solutions that were ahead of the curve and helped to push the boundaries and concepts of modern boat design”.
