Dazzling displays will fill the skies over Aylsham when the town’s Scout group puts on a Guy Fawkes night fireworks event.

The Friday, November 3 celebration will take place in the field next to Woodgate Nursery in Cawston Road.

A spokesman said: “As with everything that we try to do as a group this is a wildlife-considered display with lower noise products being used.

“We are conscious of our beautiful surroundings and the wildlife which we are lucky to share a home with.

“We talk to the local farmers and Redwings to advise them of timings and we also hope that putting on an organised display will limit people setting off their own fireworks and causing distress to local animals and wildlife.”

Gates will open at 5.30pm and there will be a small fireworks display at 6pm. A fire will be lit at 6.30pm, and the main display starts at 8pm.

There will be food vendors and fairground rides.

There will only be disabled parking available - other attendees are encouraged to walk.

Tickets on the night cost £20 for families, £6 for adults and £5 for children, but there is a discount if bought in advance from Coxfords Butchers, JB Postle or Aylsham Town Council, from the town hall or over the phone, call 01263 733354.

The event is being run in partnership with the Aylsham Event Committee, and the display will be put on by Flashfx.

The spokesman added: “The aim is to eventually be able to raise money for the Scout group to put towards improvements to our facilities and to provide funds towards a fun and entertaining program for our young people.

“Currently entry fees charged only cover event costs."
