A new marathon is coming to Norfolk.

The Norfolk Marathon is a brand-new road run around north Norfolk taking place on April 28 next year.

Starting and finishing in Cromer, the 26.2-mile route will begin by taking runners through the villages of Northrepps and Trimingham, before heading towards Mundesley and passing back through Trunch, Bradfield and Southrepps.

The marathon will be certified by England Athletics and the route will be mostly on closed or partially closed roads, with water stations managed by local running clubs every 5km.

The event is working with sponsors Tarmac Traffic Management to ensure the safety of runners is a top priority.

Race entry costs £41 plus a booking fee for affiliated entry, whereas unaffiliated entry is priced at £43 plus a booking fee.

Runners can enter for free by selecting a charity place, choosing from one of the marathon’s listed charities, but in doing so they must agree to raise a minimum of £250 for their chosen charity.
