Art, handicrafts and produce will be on offer at a regular new artisan market on the north Norfolk coast.

St Peter’s Church in Sheringham is launching the market to raise money to replace its boiler, which broke down last winter.

The first market - with a Christmas theme - will be on November 25 from 9am to 3pm. There will be light refreshments available, including mince pies and mulled wine.

Vendors will be offering goods including jewellery, chocolates, gin, beers and wine, linocut designs and photography.

A church spokesman said: “The emphasis on providing a venue for the sale of locally produced items is consistent with St Peter’s ethos of being both a community-focused church and an eco-church.

“The cost to replace [the boiler] will be in the region of £15,000, which comes at a time when St Peter’s is still struggling to recover financially after the pandemic.

“It is the intention to hold these artisan markets on a regular basis from early 2024.”
