It’s sea life, but not as we know it.

Natty knitter Louise Walker has decked out a window at Craft Room in Cromer’s Garden Street with a menagerie of stitched creations including crabs, lobsters, gulls, seals and shells.

The Sheffield-based designer is launching a collection of knitting patterns for the mini-beasts in the form of a booklet at the store, which is run by Erica Appleton.

Ms Walker said: “All the photos in the booklet were photographed in Cromer, so it's a real celebration of the seaside town.

“I have links to Norfolk as my family live in Cromer and Norwich.

“I specialise in creating knitting patterns that aren't what you'd usually expect when you think about knitting.”

Mr Walker’s work has been featured in the New York Times' Wirecutter section, which named one of her knitting kits among the ‘best fiber craft kits for adults’.

Craft Room opened last year in the unit formerly occupied by Cromer Car Parts, which was there for 27 years.
