The Mundesley soapbox derby day returned for the first time in four years on Saturday - and organisers have already announced it will be back again next year.

The day saw teams race their way through the streets of the village in their homemade soapboxes, bringing the community together for an afternoon of fun in the seaside sunshine.

The event, which was the first since 2019 due to the pandemic, was put on by the 1st Mundesley Air Scouts - and the group's Beaver leader Elaine Bush said the day brought the whole community together.

"We are all really proud of what we achieved as everyone came together, which is what it's all about," she said.

"The day went really well. The road was shut off and there were lots of people watching and cheering everyone on.

"There was a real community spirit in the village again after a few years away.

"Families were able to make memories, which is so important.

"Before we left we were already planning next year's."
