A coffee morning at North Walsham funeral directors Gordon Haynes raised £570 for the town’s War Memorial Hospital Friends.
Around 100 people attended the Saturday morning event organised by business owners Gordon and Sally Haynes with help from friends and family, who baked cakes and sold raffle tickets.
A name the teddy competition was won by Lucy Haynes, who guessed right with Rusty.
The Friends also did a display of photos and information showcasing their work and the history of the hospital, which was built following a public appeal to honour the 179 local men who gave their lives in the First World War.
The proceeds will be used by the Friends who buy 'extras' at the 24-bed unit, which have recently ranged from patient activities and newspapers to a coffee machine for staff.
Sally Haynes said: “We hold these events when we can and aim to help local community causes.
“It was a great turnout and we were pleased to support the Friends.”
Friends chairman Keith Jarvis added: “We are grateful to this local family business for supporting our work.
"All our work is funded by public donations, fundraising and legacies.
"We have a number of projects we are currently discussing with the health authority, and hope to bring them to fruition soon.”
