Help is at hand for people struggling with the rising cost of living thanks to a new partnership.

Citizens Advice has teamed up with the Yorkshire Building Society in Cromer to host an advisor from the charity one day a week.

Karen Chastney, manager of the Church Street branch, said the service would be open to all and not just the building society’s customers.

Ms Chastney said: “We recognise that many people in our community need help and advice around financial wellbeing – perhaps now more than ever – so we’re really pleased to be a host branch for Citizens Advice advisers.

“The partnership has been such a success in other parts of the country and I’m sure the accessible service will be a welcome addition in Cromer too.  North Norfolk News: Norfolk Citizens Advice chief executive Mark HitchcockNorfolk Citizens Advice chief executive Mark Hitchcock (Image: Newsquest)"Hopefully anyone who needs a little extra support or advice will get in touch with the branch and make an appointment with the adviser.”

Mark Hitchcock, chief officer at Norfolk Citizens Advice, said: “In the current economic storm it’s crucial people get the advice they need to help them stay afloat financially or tackle other issues that may be causing concern.”
