A two-bedroom period cottage will go under the hammer at auction this month – around six months after and for over £100,000 less than when it first appeared on the open market.
Flint Cottage in Alby, north Norfolk, is listed for sale at a guide price of £275,000-£325,000 with Auction House East Anglia.
The property came up for sale on the open market late last year, priced at a guide of £425,000.
At the time, selling agents Sowerbys said that describing the two-bed, two-bath cottage in Alby as a hidden gem “would be an understatement”, and Auction House East Anglia, now handling the sale, say the property offers a “rare opportunity” to create a dream home in the country.

Accommodation is currently arranged over two floors, offering idyllic views from all sides. The simple layout – which includes a kitchen, living room, dining room and bathroom on the ground floor, and two bedrooms and a cloakroom above – could be easily enhanced and extended, and there is also the added benefit of an attached garage.
The cottage has been largely untouched since it was built over 150 years ago, but according to Auction House East Anglia, it comes with planning permission to demolish and create a new, two-storey home.
