A north Norfolk bakery has been voted one of the best in the country.

Readers of the Financial Times have picked Bread Source as one of their favourites in the UK in a recent poll.

The chain, which was established in Aylsham in 2012, came third in the list along with well-known bakeries such as Pump Street Bakery in Suffolk and Pophams in London.

The firm was founded by Steven and Hannah Winter, and their first bakery was in Red Lion Street in the market town. This branch has since moved to the Market Place, in the former Clarkes ironmongers building.

The business has now grown to seven branches, and others can be found in Norwich's St Giles Street, Norwich Market and the Refectory in Norwich Cathedral.

Its goods are baked in a large building in Marriot Close in the city, where there is also a retail counter.

Last month Bread Source was named the best in Norfolk at the annual National Bakery Awards 2023 and it also has been recognised as being one of the best artisan bakeries in the nation in British Baker's 2023 list.
