A north Norfolk restaurant has launched an 'exciting' new menu featuring traditional pub classics with a gourmet street food twist.

The Smoke Kitchen in Cromer reopened in April this year following a revamp of the restaurant and the courtyard seating area outside, which connects it to the Wellington pub.

The restaurant is part-owned by head chef Mark Anderson, which he shares with the owners of the Wellington, sisters Leona Gard and Simone Hopwood.

The Smoke Kitchen’s latest menu is inspired by pub favourites, served in a street food style.

Mr Anderson said customers can expect quality food at affordable prices.

He said: “I’ve put my everything into it.

“I wanted to give people something familiar but be a bit creative with it.

“I love the creative side of being a chef. It comes from the heart - it’s a form of self-expression.

“I’ve tried my hardest to keep the prices low for families. Cromer’s a melting pot: some people don’t mind spending more money, but others are on a tighter budget. It’s about marrying that all together and doing something for everybody.”

On the menu are pub classic gourmet fries, like fish and chips, sausage and chips, and the ham egg and chips - made with the Smoke Kitchen’s 14-hour smoked gammon and crispy hens eggs.

They also make slow-cooked beef brisket and pork belly, alongside fresh seafood, including the famous Cromer crab.

Visitors also have the choice of tapas for sharing and the 'seaside special', which includes salt and pepper squid, dressed crab, shell-on prawns and more.
