A year ago a car dramatically crashed through the wall of Wroxham Social Club causing chaos for its members.

And now 12 months later the club is "back to normal" after works to repair the damage have been completed.

In April last year a car crashed into the club's Norwich Road home, causing a gas leak and forcing it to temporarily close.

The social club was left without gas and heating throughout the winter, which left it resorting to using electric heaters to keep its almost 60 members warm.

However, things are warming up again at the club, as the wall has now been rebuilt and the inside of the bar lounge has been restored to its former glory.

Linda Iaccarino, Wroxham Social Club's secretary, said: "It took a while, but we're fully back to normal.

"Slowly it has come together. We've replaced the radiator which was knocked off the wall, replaced the carpet and repainted the walls.

"Being back in the bar lounge has made a huge difference to the club and our members."

The club offers table tennis, outdoor bowls, snooker, quizzes, tea and cake meetings, bingo and other social events.
