The 'Wild Man' from the BBC’s The One Show is heading to north Norfolk to talk about a very 'wild' mission.

Mike Dilger, 56, set out to see 1,000 different wild plants over 12 months after the Covid lockdowns were lifted.

He will tell people why at Sharrington Village Hall on Saturday, April 22.

Sarah Bell, from the village hall committee, said: “Taking in city centres, mountain tops and every conceivable habitat in between, Mike’s big botanical year was not just an opportunity to celebrate the beauty, diversity and rarity of the nation’s plants, but also to assess how our fascinating flora is faring in modern Britain.”

Mr Dilger even penned a book about his experience called One Thousand Shades of Green, which will be available to buy at the talk.

He will also talk about his last 15 years on The One Show.

Mr Dilger's other books include My Garden And Other Animals Collins, Nature's Top 40: Britain's Best Wildlife and Nature's Babies.

The talk will start at 7.30pm, tickets are £15  and includes a drink. Visit www.ticketebo.co.uk/sharringtonvillagehall to book.
