One of the drawcards for the opening day of Holt’s new Budgens supermarket was the promise of a freebie.
The supermarket - which has been rebuilt following a devastating fire in 2020 - offered its first 1,000 customers a goody bag packed with items to the value of £30.
And it may have worked - scores of people were queuing outside the new store in Kerridge Way on Thursday morning, eager to explore the range inside and claim their free treat.

1. Hot cross buns from Redgate Bakery. Well, 'tis the season!
2.80 pack of PG Tip tea bags. Time for a brew?
3. M&Ms Eggs - A tasty treat
4. Garden of Evelden baking potatoes - for hearty dinners
5. Kettle crisps - A snacktime favourite
6. Gala apples - They're from Kent
7. Norfolk oat and coconut biscuits - Who knew tradition could be so tasty?
8. Bishops Lynn Fruit Cake - For when the in-laws visit
9. Classic French dressing - To liven up a salad
10. Nescafe original coffee - Because who needs anything fancy?
11. Norfolk chocolate gingers - These won't last long
12. Harley's strawberry jam - Great, but what can I put it on?
13. Ah, there you go...
