Fine seafood and other culinary delights will soon be served at a new coastal restaurant in a former pub building.

The Fishmongers’ Tavern in Cromer Road, Sheringham is set to open for drinks on April 1 from 11.30am, and for Sunday lunch the following day from midday.

The restaurant, in the former Dunstable Arms building, will then offer a £40 five-course taster menu from April 3 to 13, before switching to lunch, à la carte and Sunday menus.

CA Seafoods took over the building in August last year, and its team has been busy refurbishing the venue since then.

The restaurant will be led by head chef Michael Carr and general manager Will Young.

Matt Hagon from CA Seafoods said: “Michael brings his wealth of experience in creating innovative and delicious seafood dishes to the kitchen, having honed his skills at some of the best restaurants and hotels in Norfolk.

“He has also been working on a new range of seafood products, such as fishcakes and ready meals, to be sold from the CA Seafoods fishmongers in Station Road, Sheringham.

Mr Hagon said the restaurant would focus on seafood, but there would also be options for meat-eaters, vegans, and vegetarians.

He said: “The team behind the restaurant has been hard at work to ensure that everything is perfect for their grand opening.”

From April 14, the Fishmongers’ Tavern will be open daily for lunch and for dinner Monday to Saturday.

The restaurant will also sell its own branded ales brewed by Moongazer Ale called High Tide and Low Tide.
