Joining thousands of other Scouts from around the world is the goal of a 14-year-old from Overstrand.
Autumn Johnson is hoping to attend the World Scout Jamboree in South Korea this August, and is raising £4,000 to fund the trip.
She is undertaking a series of fundraisers, and has already done a 19-mile night hike along with five others in her Scout unit.
Autumn said: “It took us from 7pm to 7am to find our way to the six base camps, where we had to do activities like put up a tent blindfolded.”
Autumn said the trek was “one of the hardest things” she has done, but, competing against 19 other Scout groups from across the country, her group finished the task in the fifth fastest time.
More than 40,000 Scouts from around the world will attend the event at Saemangeum, a tidal flat on the coast of the Yellow Sea.
World Scout Jamborees only happen once every four years.
