A new headteacher has been appointed at Sheringham Woodfields School.

Annette Maconochie has taken over the reins from James Stanbrook, who has retired.

Ms Maconochie joined the school two years ago as deputy headteacher, having previously served as an assistant headteacher at Clare School in Norwich.

She said: "I am delighted to have been appointed as headteacher, and I am looking forward to building on the strengths of the school and taking it forward into the future."

"I will also continue to support Norfolk County Council in delivering excellent provision and outcomes for children and young adults with SEND (special educational needs)."

Sheringham Woodfields School is a purpose-built school for pupils with complex needs situated on the outskirts of Sheringham, where it shares a campus with Sheringham Academy and Sheringham Primary School.

Following Ofsted's most recent inspection in 2019, the education watchdog rated the school as 'outstanding'.
