Britney Spears and the Beatles have inspired music videos produced by pupils in a festive fundraiser.

A group of boys from Gresham’s School in Holt have recorded versions of Spear’s Baby One More Time, while a girls’ group picked Across the Universe for their production.

The version of Baby One More Time was produced by Nigel Dick, a former Gresham’s student, who also produced the Band Aid single, Do They Know it’s Christmas.

A Gresham’s spokesman said of the Beatles’ cover: “The song is a testament to hope amid the chaos and a haunting reminder of our troubled, transient world.

"War, disease, and the looming threat of climate change can foster a sense of hopelessness and resignation.

“The Gresham’s girls set out to change that mindset, combining ethereal vocals and melancholy piano accompaniment in an intoxicating blend of floating sound.”
