From watersports to pastries and coffee, the owners of a paddleboard hire firm have revealed their plans to take over a seafront cafe in north Norfolk.

The SUP Shack in Sheringham will take over the reins at Trendie's Beach Cafe next Spring for the 2023 season.

SUP Shack, located on the town's promenade, was first set up by friends and business partners Lewis Gray, Sol Lowe and Sam James in 2020.

And after such a successful three years in business, they couldn't turn down the "amazing opportunity" to run the cafe which is located next door.

Mr Gray, 31, said: "We are really grateful to Andy and Alice (the owners of Trendie's) for giving us this opportunity.

"We have had such a brilliant few years, so it feels like the right time to expand.

"We will be keeping it as a cafe, but the name and branding will change.

"Since announcing the news, the reaction from the community has been really nice - most people know us as we are all local boys.

"We are just hoping to make life a bit more enjoyable down on the seafront and give more reasons to come to the town."

The cafe will become SUP Shack's "main hub" for their paddleboarders or those just looking for a place to relax with a drink or a bite to eat.

Some of the potential changes they hope to implement include opening from 7.30am to offer breakfasts to early risers, yoga lessons on the cafe's sun deck, acquiring an alcohol licence to open as a bar in the evenings and hosting barbeques.

Mr Gray added: "Nothing is set in stone but we have lots of great ideas.

"We just want to offer something a little bit different, which also appeals to a younger crowd."

In a post on Trendie's Beach Cafe's Instagram page, the current owners wrote: "We are handing over the reins of the cafe to SUP shack for the 2023 season.

"Lewie, Sol and Sam will be taking on the cafe from the Spring and putting their stamp on the place.

"We would like to thank all our customers, new and old, for all the love and support you have given us over the last four seasons.

"We have had a fabulous time with you all working in the sunshine."
