North Norfolk Foodbank has received a £10,000 grant from the district council during a cost of living summit.

Councillors and officers joined representatives from a wide range of help and support organisations to discuss the impact of rising prices at an event in Cromer on Monday (November 7).

Tim Adams, leader of NNDC, said the grant was to assist with the foodbank's work to support people with energy bills.

The charity has reported 43pc more people using the service compared with this time last year.

Mr Adams also said that the event was "interesting and valuable".

"There were some stark figures shared by North Norfolk Foodbank about the increase in demand that they’ve seen already.

“While it’s heartening to know the support they are giving, it’s clear the demand for assistance from groups like the North Norfolk Foodbank is going to increase further," he added.
