Police officers have been targeting anti-social behaviour, illegal parking and speeding in north Norfolk.

Members of the Holt Safer Neighbourhood Team have reported on how they have been tackling street drinking and associated anti-social behaviour in Melton Constable, with both high visibility and plain clothes patrols.

They have also organised several street meetings, but these have not proved very successful, with few people attending, although they are looking at organising another one to take place around Melton Constable on Sunday, May 23, in the afternoon.

In relation to speeding through Bodham, Edgefield, High Kelling and Briston, the team are looking at funding and sourcing their own dedicated speeding equipment, but in the meantime are looking to continue to work with the community speedwatch schemes

The team have also taken part in a publicity campaign to stop the abuse of parking regulations and restrictions in Holt town centre, with warning tickets issued to 38 motorists and another 64 being issued with fixed penalty tickets for various parking offences.

Two new priorities have been set for the team, looking at alcohol-related and other anti-social behaviour in Briston and Melton Constable in the evenings, and inappropriate and anti-social use of motor vehicles in local parishes.

The team's next meeting has been provisionally booked at Melton Constable Country Club on Wednesday, July 7 from 7pm.

The meeting is open meeting for people to attend and raise any issues, concerns or ideas to benefit the community.
