An open studios and 'artists at work' event in Smallburgh Village Hall has raised 1,283 for Cancer Research UK.
The Smallburgh Six, a group of artists who paint weekly in the hall, sold 44 of their oil paintings, plus unframed watercolours and charcoal sketches, at prices ranging from 2 to 150, with a percentage of proceeds going to the cause.
Artist Marcia Paterson said between 200 and 300 people had visited the two-day event which also included a bring-and-buy sale of art books and materials, a raffle and refreshments served by Olive Bussey.
The other artists taking part were Pam Loveday, Liz Purdy, Elizabeth Sparrow, Mary Williams, and Tricia Pugh.
Mrs Paterson said all those involved had been touched by cancer, either personally or because family members had been sufferers.
