The victim of a house fire in north Norfolk has been named as Raymond Rouse.

Mr Rouse, 84, died on Monday February 4 after a fire at his home in The Forge on The Street, Calthorpe, the opening of the inquest into his death heard.

The retired carpenter was found collapsed by his bathroom and was taken out of the house where ambulance crews attempted to resuscitate him through CPR, but Mr Rouse was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of death has not been established and Norfolk coroner William Armstrong adjourned the inquest on Thursday.

Fire engines from Cromer, Aylsham, North Walsham and Sheringham were called to the home at about 3pm.
