Police have been called to a Norfolk polling station after an allegation of assault.
The police were called this morning to a polling station in Garden Street, Cromer, after a Labour party activist was allegedly assaulted while telling for the Norfolk County Council elections.
Greg Hayman, a former mayor in the town and a current town councillor, was allegedly assaulted, while taking the numbers of voters as they arrived at the polling station.
Norfolk police confirmed they had been called to the polling station. We will update this story as further details emerge.
