A former Cromer nightclub is set to re-open as a charity shop.
Sue Ryder has applied for permission to put up six charity shop signs on the former Bouncers Bar, Holt Road.
A spokesman for the charity said they hoped to open at the end of March or early April and would mostly be selling furniture.
The building, next to Cromer Railway Station, has 3,600 sq ft of retail space and would be ideal for the venture, according to the spokesman.
Items sold would mostly be second-hand but Sue Ryder had links with some brands and were sometimes given ex-showroom furniture. It would also sell other donated items. The news was not welcomed by Tracey Khalil, chairman of Cromer and District Chamber of Trade.
'This is disappointing,' she said. 'It's such an iconic, prominent, visually-attractive building. I would have hoped we could have had something other than another charity shop there.'
Sue Ryder supports people with complex needs and life-threatening illnesses.
