About £15,000 has already been raised towards the £75,000 target needed to pay for the restoration of six derelict bells at All Saints' Church in Upper Sheringham.
The major fundraising project was launched in March and the aim is to re-hang the bells in the church tower to enable traditional English full circle bell-ringing to take place for the first time since the 1930s.
Project co-ordinator Sue Morton said: 'We are delighted that we have raised £15,000 from donations alone.
'We will soon receive the planning permission for churches and will then start applying for grants. Work will start on the new floor being built to provide a ringing gallery where the bellringers will stand to ring the bells.'
If you can help, cheques should be made payable to Upper Sheringham PCC and sent to Sue Morton, Project co-ordinator, 4 Linden Grove, Sheringham, Norfolk, NR26 8PD. Or donate online at www.gofundme.com/upper-sheringham-bell-appeal
