New double yellow lines have been proposed for a busy street through one of Norfolk's "bottleneck villages".

Wroxham Road in Coltishall would see the lines painted on both sides of the road from near the junction of Chapel Lane to the private road next to Naya Bridal Shop.

A number of parking bays are also proposed for the south side of the road between 14 and 18 Wroxham Road, which would operate on two-hour slots between 8am and 6pm from Monday to Saturday.

The proposals come following a recent waiting restrictions order lodged with Norfolk County Council to make the road less dangerous for homeowners living along its length.

The order, filed by a member of the public, said parking on Wroxham Road has become "problematic" and vehicles attempting to pull out of driveways are at risk of being hit because they cannot see down the road properly.

Double yellow line restrictions would ensure the road remains clear for homeowners coming in and out and the new time-limited parking spaces would allow visitors to continue to use local amenities.

The lines currently run east of the Naya Bridal Shop but not west of Chapel Lane.
