A former nurse has launched a new beauty salon in north Norfolk and it has already been nominated for an award.

Offering beauty and nail services in Blakeney, Coastal Beauty Blakeney was launched by Rebecca Barden who used to work as a nurse at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

After nearly two years of training to become a beautician and skin care specialist, Ms Barden self-funded the launch of her small independent business by transforming her garden cabin into a beauty salon.

Discovering a gap in the market between Holt and Wells, Ms Barden decided to open her salon to make beauty services more accessible for local clients in Blakeney.

"It went off the scales with people wanting treatments,” she said. "All I want to do is look after people, I wanted to create a safe space for somebody to come and relax because everyone loves a bit of tender love and care."

Since opening in January, the business has been nominated as one of the best beauty salons in Norfolk in the Muddy Stiletto Awards 2024.

In the future, Ms Barden hopes to expand her beauty salon by offering services at local businesses.
