An award-winning children’s author and illustrator is opening a new bookshop in north Norfolk.
Kate Read plans to open the One Fox Shop + Studio in Aylsham’s Red Lion Street next month.
The store will sell a collection of Kate’s own books, cards and prints, as well as the work of fellow authors and illustrators.
One Fox Shop + Studio is named after Kate’s award-winning picture book ‘One Fox – A Counting Book Thriller’.
“I love Aylsham,” Kate said.
“It’s got a wonderful sense of community and thriving small businesses.
“I am really looking forward to opening the shop door, meeting new customers, and inspiring children to get creative.”

Kate’s other children’s books include the best-selling ‘BOO! – A Fishy Mystery’ and ‘The Big Bad Bug – A Minibeast Mini Adventure’.
She has also illustrated a pair of press-out books about nature with The National Trust: ‘Birds of a Feather’ and ‘Butterfly Skies’.
Kate has lived in Norfolk for the past 15 years and she makes her illustrations using collage, which she hand-paints before finishing off each image digitally.
