A much-loved pub on the seafront is due to reopen with a "fresh new look" after undergoing nearly £500,000 in refurbishments.

The Lobster in Sheringham closed late last month after the former landlord of 22 years, Graham Deans, rang the bell for last orders.

It returned to the Stonegate Pub Group which has since invested £465,000 in refreshing the entire property, including a new bar, kitchen and guest rooms.

The outdoor area has also received a makeover ahead of the February 27 reopening date.

For the launch, The Lobster is holding a competition to win a three-course dinner and a weeknight overnight stay by signing up to its database and pre-booking a table during opening week.

New menu offerings will include a "sensational" triple roast, with hand-carved beef, pork loin and turkey, as well as a mushroom wellington.

Oliver McErlain, the general manager, said: "The investment into the venue is substantial and we can't wait to welcome locals and tourists back to celebrate the pub's new chapter."
