Norwich travel to Cambridge tomorrow to play Cantabrigian, a side they have failed to beat in recent years.

Cantabrigian have a formidable home record this season, holding Division Two North East leaders Diss to a 25-25 draw and only losing to the other title contenders South Woodham Ferrers by a point.

Norwich’s improvement in recent weeks was emphasised last weekend when they dominated much of their game at South Woodham on a small youth pitch that favoured the hosts’ forward-based game-plan before going down 24-10.

Norwich are able to field a similar side to last week with just Richie Rhodes unavailable, meaning Ayden Pitman moves to 15 and Nick Austin to 13 and Jonny Wheater to 14. Ryan Bigland gets a start at prop and Peter Hosking, Dave Byrne and Tom Stanley are the replacements.

Head coach Jonny O’Brien is hoping for another good performance against tough opposition.

“I was really pleased with the guys’ performance last week, we certainly deserved a losing bonus point,” he said. “This will be another tough encounter and if we can match them up front then I believe we can win.

“Our defence has been excellent we just need to show more composure in attack.”

The Lions and A XV are at home to Fakenham and Norwich Union respectively.

In London Three North East, Southwold will be aiming to get back to winnings ways after successive home defeats at the hands of top two Harlow and Wanstead ended any hopes of promotion. They visit Upminster tomorrow while relegation battlers West Norfolk are at Stowmarket.

Lowestoft & Yarmouth, who are without a game, showed again last week that they are now a competitive outfit at this level, even though wins are still eluding them,

They were beaten 26-7 by visitors Stowmarket but played some positive rugby at times before an injury to prop Carl Stephenson forced the game to be moved to the second XV pitch. Full-back Jack Walker and winger Ben Thompson set up a position for the forwards to burrow over through Jordan Winney for a consolation try.
