The local bragging rights were claimed by Gorleston as Thetford were beaten 3-0 at Emerald Park in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division.

The hosts took the lead in just the eighth minute when a defensive slip allowed Kyle Baker to score. Thetford pressed for an equaliser before the break but Emmanuel Machaya saw an effort headed off the line and Johnny Conroy was denied by Greens keeper Taurean Molloy to preserve the lead.

The home side then doubled their lead in the 57th minute though, with Joel Watts scoring a penalty to take his goal tally to 13 for the campaign.

Top scorer Connor Ingram got in on the act 11 minutes later, coming off the bench to score the hosts’ second penalty of the game, the teen taking his tally for the season to 20.

Gorleston stay fourth but moved to within two points of third-placed Felixstowe, with three games in hand, and the Brecklanders stay seventh.
