East Ruston fly the NEN League flag in Norfolk Junior Cup

It was Junior Cup day in the Walcott Lighthouse Inn NEN League, with the tie involving last year’s runners-up Runton being placed on hold as their opponents’ previous game is under review.

East Ruston made the long journey to Necton and thanks to the young Annison brothers, Toby and Ant, secured a fine 2-1.

Toby netted in the first half and scored a second half winner after the hosts had equalised from the spot.

Cromer Youth OB went down 4-3 at home to Downham Town Reserves, Haisboro lost 5-3 at home to Dussindale Rovers and Erpingham lost heavily at home to Horsford.

Goals from Ben Burch (2) and Ben Dagless gave Holt Res a 3-0 win at Aylsham A while Hickling won 8-1 at Holt Colts (Lewis Lawes 3, Ryan O’Connor, Matthew Watts, Shaun Simpson, Karl Wengrzik, own goal). North Walsham A beat Gimingham Res 3-2 (Elliott Wesby, Neil Dunlop, David Massingham.
