Tributes have continued to flood in for Sprowston footballer Liam Still, as an inquest into his death was opened in Norwich this afternoon.

Assistant deputy coroner David Osborne opened the inquest into the 21-year-old’s death, before adjourning for further investigations to be carried out.

Mr Still, of St Margaret’s Drive, was a goalkeeper for both Wroxham Reserves FC and Riverside Rovers.

He was injured after the blue Vauxhall Corsa he was driving left the B1108 Watton Road, at Bawburgh, and collided with a tree at around 5.15am last Saturday.

Friends have continued to send tributes in since Mr Still passed away at Addenbrooke’s Hospital on Thursday.

Michael Dack said: “I had the privilege of playing football both in the same team as him, and against him on more than one occasion a few years ago. We all knew then that he was special on the field, that he would go far. Always a leader and always determined.

At school he always had a smile on his face, and he knew how to cheer everyone up – always knowing what to say.”

While Rocco Viscito said: “RIP old friend. It proves how much of a good friend you were because I feel like this now. I came and saw you sat and couldn’t believe how much fight you had in you Stills. I feel proud to have known you.”
