North Walsham-based Mr Kew’s Pies won in three classes with its premium pies at the British Pie Awards in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire.

The firm won gold for its chicken, leek and rare breed smoked bacon pie in the chicken and any flavour combination class, as well as silver in the beef and ale class and another silver for its creamy vegetable pie in the vegetarian class.

Head chef Ian Kew said: “We were particularly pleased to win these awards as this is the first time we have entered the competition. Our policy of using only the finest ingredients sourced from north Norfolk wherever possible seems to have paid off.”

Mr Kew’s Pies is based at the North Walsham industrial estate.
