North Norfolk’s two state sixth-form colleges are celebrating their best-ever set of A-level results.
Both Paston College, in North Walsham, and Sheringham High School and Sixth-Form College have broken previous achievement records.
At Paston, new principal Kevin Grieve, said they were particularly pleased by the further rise in the overall A-level pass rate and especially the percentage of higher grades (A*-B).
And this year they would have more than 100 Norfolk County Scholars for the first time.
Paston’s A-level pass rate has now risen to more than 98pc with 52pc achieving A*-B top grades, and 75pc A*-C grades.
Students on BTEC Extended Diploma courses, equivalent to three A-levels, achieved a 96pc pass rate with 67pc achieving top distinction and merit grades.
