A man has been charged after a chainsaw was used to cut through a park bench in a north Norfolk village. 

David Stokoe, 28, has been charged with criminal damage after a chainsaw was used on the park bench in Thorpe Market Road, Roughton, yesterday evening (May 8). 

Stokoe and a second man in his 30s were arrested following the incident at 5.20pm on Wednesday, and interviewed at Aylsham Police Investigation Centre.

Stokoe has been bailed to appear at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on June 17.

The man in 30s has been released with no further action.
