A knitted Easter topper that was taken from a Cromer postbox has returned.

Two local people, who keep their identities a secret, spent many hours creating an adorable seasonal scene, featuring chicks, bunnies, a basket and bunting.

They put the topper on the postbox in Overstrand Road ahead of the Easter weekend but sometime between 8pm and 11pm on Good Friday it went missing.

The news was posted on the 'Love Cromer' Facebook group and it was met with anger and disappointment from locals.

Disheartened by the disappearance, one of the makers said: "I really expect it to be put back on - generally people do the right thing, don't they?"

The topper has now been returned in a spring-like fashion and was spotted on its original postbox following its weekend-long stint of absence.

It will reportedly remain on the postbox until Wednesday.
