A free four-day festival for teenagers is coming to Norfolk over the Easter weekend.

The Loud Speaker Easter Weekender is taking place in West Runton from March 29 to April 1, with a bumper line-up of free outdoor activities, workshops and events for teens.

The festival is the brainchild of Calvin Eden, who was inspired to provide young people with opportunities to get a better start in life after his best friend was tragically murdered in a stabbing, aged just 15.

Now, Calvin and Oba Akinwale, who founded Loud Speaker together in 2019, hope the event can teach teens vital life skills – with plenty of fun activities throughout the weekend.

Outdoor activities on offer range from archery and rock climbing to zip lines and high ropes, alongside workshops focussed on building life, employability and enterprise skills.

The workshops will cover topics such as communication skills, marketing, personal branding and start up business coaching, and the evenings will feature Loud Speaker Bingo and The Big Quiz.

The Easter weekend events are happening across the UK, with others taking place in North Wales, South Yorkshire, Kent, Northumberland and the Isle of Wight.

It is in collaboration with the National Citizen Service (NCS) - a voluntary personal and social development program for 16 to 17 year olds, which is funding the festivals.

NCS says it is supporting Loud Speakers' goals of making motivation cool, learning exciting and developing teenagers' social skills and confidence around others.

The festival is aimed at teens aged 15 to 17 from all backgrounds, and free transport to and from the event will be provided from Station Approach, Thorpe Road, in Norwich.
