Two men have been arrested after barricading themselves in a house in Cromer.

A large number of police officers were called to a property in Warren Court at about midday on Saturday following reports that two men were threatening to harm themselves and others.

Overstrand Road was closed while officers resolved the incident but later reopened.

One man, aged in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of robbery, affray, burglary and two counts of assaulting an emergency worker.

He was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital by ambulance staff due to concerns for his welfare.

He remains under arrest.

Another man aged in his 20s was arrested for burglary, affray, and robbery and was taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre for questioning, where he remains.

No-one was injured in the incident and police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
